An Easter Miracle March 23, 2008 Easter is a very special day for Aidan, his entire family, and his many supporters. Two years ago on Good Friday 2006 Aidan was diagnosed with a brainstem cancer known as Diffused Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Just like the Friday our Lord and his followers experienced almost 2000 years ago, it was a day filled with dread, horror, and sorrow. Darkness filled every aspect of our lives and it was truly hard to see how this could possibly have a happy ending. Well, just like the story in the Bible, three short days later our God reminded us through the miracle of his resurrection that all things are possible if we simply chose to believe. READ MORE |

MRI Results January 11, 2008 I Aidan is still defying all the odds and continues to hold this cancer in check! It is now 20+ months since diagnosis and another MRI is in the books with results that are once again "unchanged". This is the eighth MRI in a row which shows the tumor as unbelievably stable and 60% smaller then prior to radiation. While he may still carry the tumor he was diagnosed with, he remains symptom free and is living a wonderful life as any normal 6-year-old would. Considering the horrendous statistics associated with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, these miraculous results are very impressive indeed. READ MORE |

The Final Word on Aidan's March 29th MRI April 9, 2007 Tanya Spoke with Cory Hoeppner (Aidan's Nurse Practitioner) and she told Tanya that Aidan's March 29th MRI was not presented to the Tumor Board for review. Because Cory and the Doctors were out of town at the PBTC symposium, they were backlogged with 13 MRI's when they returned. Apparently Aidan is doing so very well, the review of his MRI was not a priority. Cory also told Tanya that nothing has changed as far as the Doctors opinion that Aidan's tumor is experiencing some degree of necrosis. This was obviously very encouraging news and we were all overjoyed with what we had heard. READ MORE |
