Continued Hope for Aidan's Miracle June 21, 2008 We have provided Aidan's medical records and scans to many respected institutions and we have now received opinions from all of them. The consensus is that Aidan is indeed experiencing progression or reoccurrence of the Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma that he was originally diagnosed with over two years ago. That being said, the opinions were not unanimous. At one hospital the Chief Oncologist and his Fellow were leaning that the scans indicate progression, but other Tumor Board members were of the opinion that the scans did not show progression. June 12, 2008 Just wanted to give you all a little background, a current update, and then request your help... Aidan's last MRI in early April showed "no significant changes". While we were pleased, there was some concern because there apparently were some changes, but the Doctors believed them to be insignificant. Our concerns lead to some probing questions of the Doctors and we were assured that any changes from the prior scan could be attributed to methodology or the likelihood that the same exact slices were not being compared and therefore they were comparing apples to oranges. Well, we returned home armed with this evaluation and everything proceeded wonderfully. READ MORE | ||
